Social Media Influencers has become a popular term for the past couple of years. Everyone wants to know how to be a “social media influencer” and now days just about anyone with the right amount of drive and dedication can become one. If you are ready to start making money as a social media influencer the best way to start is by joining influencer platforms.
Joining Influencer Platforms
Influencer platforms are sites where brands post product campaigns for influencers to apply. You can search for lots of campaigns for each specific platform such as Instagram, Facebook or Youtube. Here you are able to sell yourself and what you can do for the brand.
TIP: When pitching to brands, be specific to what you will deliver (photo or video) but keep it short and sweet.
The Best Platforms for Social Media Campaigns
The first platform is FAMEBIT. This is the biggest site out there for social media influencers. I use this one the most because it is constantly being updated every day with lots of potential campaigns. Keep in mind when setting your rate that Famebit does take 10% of your earnings.
Another good thing about Famebit is that it has a section for you to search for other social media influencers to collaborate with.
Here all campaigns are supposed to be paid. Minimum for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter is $25 and for Youtube is $50. Although a brand cannot accept a proposal without paying, some brands always try to trade in product for the post. Just be on the lookout for that.
For Companies: If you are a company, you can also join this platform as a brand and search for social media influencers to promote your products.
The next best site is Aspire IQ. This site allows for the product in exchange for the post, meaning you agree to post in your platform and in return you receive the product. Sometimes the product is worth a lot and worth it but if this is not Ok with you there are plenty of paid campaigns to search for.
TIP: You can type a $ in the search bar and you will only see campaigns that pay.
This site also allows for the rating of each social media influencer by giving stars and reviews. So if you have good ratings, chances are more brands will want to work with you. As an influencer, you can also rate a brand on how your collaboration was. This is great because you get to see how people have rated other brands and decide if they are good to work with.
Another quick thing to point out is that you get to show off your past work in your portfolio section. This part includes all your past projects for future brands to see.
For Companies: You can also join this platform as a brand to have social media influencers promote your products. I believe there is a monthly fee for this.
The third site is Grapevine Logic. This site is similar to Famebit and Aspire IQ but it is more targeted for Youtubers. So if you’re a Youtuber, this site is perfect for you. The site is tailored more for Youtube but there are some options for Instagram as well. I love that this site has a calendar to keep track of all your campaigns. As opposed to Famebit and Aspire-IQ, I would say this site is slower in having more open campaigns. I don’t check here often for that reason but it’s good to keep it on your list.
Another site to keep on your list is Activate. The only difference to this site is that here you have the option of including a rate for a blog post. This is a good site but it’s also slower in bringing in new campaigns to apply to. Something I like about this site is that it has lots of campaigns for FREE stays at places in exchange for a post. This is nice if you like to travel or just explore different cities.
