Traveling to Miami

Miami Florida

I cannot believe I was Miami. Besides New York, Miami was the second place as a must this year and I am so happy that I was able to visit.

My cousin and I decided to go on a family trip. I flew to San Antonio Texas from LAX to meet him and my aunt. We started our journey from there at about 5 am. We then passed through New Orleans and all the other states along the way till we got to Pensacola. It is the first city in Florida.

Our final destination was Orlando Florida, that is where we had our Airbnb rented for the week. Let’s talk about our Miami Florida cruise first lol I am just so excited to tell you all about it.

Miami Beach Cruise | Cuban Food

So YES we went on on those Miami tourist cruises but it was amazing. I love the ocean so anything that involves looking at pretty views, I like. We got there early so we ordered some amazing Cuban food at took it on the boat to eat it. Cuban food is a must if you’re in Miami. I just can’t get enough platanos con moros and Cuban sandwiches. And I can’t say enough about the Cuban mojitos. HAHA!

Our cruise was for about an hour. During the cruise, we visited celebrity homes and boats. Those houses are immense. Some of the homes belonged to P-diddy, J.lo, Mark Cuban, Jay-z, and many more.

I believe this is Mark Cubans’ boat. It’s huge! 

South Beach Miami

Let me tell you a bit about South Beach Miami.  It was soooooo crazy. Well, we went during spring break week so I believe that was the reason. Anyways, I loved it and want to move here so badly. I just love the beach and the people are so nice and friendly.

South Beach appeals more to the young culture. Here you will find lots of cool hang out spots, food, bars, clubs and of course the beach. I would say if you like to party by the ocean, then this is where it’s at.

The Everglades

One of the places we had to visit was The Everglades. The Everglades is in the southern portion of Florida. It is water leaving Lake Okeechobee in the wet season. The water forms a slow-moving river 60 miles wide and over 100 miles long.

The Everglades experience a wide range of weather patterns, from frequent flooding in the wet season to drought in the dry season. I was there during spring so it was pretty normal and sunny.

We went on this boat ride that takes you along the river in the swamps to spot alligators. I sure did see a lot. You have to keep your eyes open because they like to blend and hide in the mud. I was so happy I got to hold one of the baby alligators. His skin felt so rough and cold.

Disney World

What kind of person comes to Florida and not visit Disney World? Well the kid in me wanted to check it out. haha. There are 4 theme parks in Disney World: Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. They are all huge. You need about a week here to check them all out. We got to see parts of the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom. Magic Kingdom is exactly like Disneyland in LA so if you’re from LA or have been to Disneyland, I would recommend any of the other ones.

I love animals so I had to visit the Animal Kingdom. The experience was amazing I felt I was in an African Safari. We were running late so we didn’t spend much time here but basically this park is divided into countries. We visited the African Safari. I believe they have Asia and other cool exotic countries.

Universal Orlando Resort

I had to be such a tourist and visit Universal. I’m from LA so I’m used to Universal Studios here. I even have the park memorized lol. LA theme parks and Florida theme parks are way different. I guess there is more free land in Florida so they are much larger. Like way larger. This resort has 2 parks: Universal Island of Adventure- which is more fun for adults and has all the cool rides, and Universal Studios Florida which is fun also but the rides are more 3D and there are more kid rides.

My favorite ride was the Harry Potter ride. I love magical rides. This one is so cool you feel like you’re in the movie flying around with Harry Potter.
